Abraham Domb, PhD

Founder and Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Domb is a Faculty of Medicine at both the School of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Products at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Lionel Jacobson Professor of Medicinal Chemistry.  Dr. Domb founded, was a Chief Scientific Officer, and/or was a Board member of Juvenis Ltd., Elutex Ltd., PolyGene Co., BioProtect Ltd., Silenseed LTD, Calisra Ventures, and MMJ Phytotech Limited. Dr. Domb served as the head of the Department of Identification and Forensic Sciences (DIFS), Israel police from 2007 to 2012. He founded and headed the Drug Delivery and Polymer division at Nova Pharmaceuticals in Baltimore, MD and was appointed as President of the Jerusalem College of Engineering (JCE) in 2014.

Dr. Domb has more than 150 patents in his name, that include: Gliadel™ brain tumor implant (Guilford, U.S.); Superfloc poly (hydroxamic acid) for purification of aluminum (American Cyanamid, U.S.); Deximmune, cyclosporine capsule for treating transplant rejection (Dexxon, Israel), Elutex (IPO). Dr. Domb did his postdoctoral training at MIT and Harvard University. Professor Domb holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry from The Hebrew University with post-doctoral Fellowships at Syntex Pharmaceutical Research Institute and The Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He earned a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Bar-Ilan University, and B.Pharm and LLB law studies from The Hebrew University.
